Five individuals from five nations, including the "Superpowers," USA, USSR, and China, suddenly find themselves on an alien spacecraft. An alien gives each a container holding capsules. Any of these five individuals has the capability to instantaneously launch the capsules to whatever coordinates he/she chooses, and each capsule will then eradicate all human life within a 3,000-mile radius of its designated location. What should they do? This poster is from the film's first release, folded as originally issued to cinemas. The paper is in excellent condition with no fading, no yellowing and just a few crossfold separations which will make linen backing very easy.

The lower edge has been trimmed by an inch but this has not removed any graphics or print information so is not obvious without a measuring tape and presents well.

Notes: David Lean's masterpiece won 7 oscars and remains one of the best movies ever made about war. This is the super rare pre-oscars version of this landmark film with superb artwork. This copy has been linen backed and is in superb condition with no fading of the colours at all. Close inspection shows very small areas of restoration where a paper snipe was removed from the top of the poster but this was expertly done by one of the top linen restoration experts in the world (Dario Casadei in Vancouver) and is now very difficult to see. A snipe is a paper notice with local cinema information.
