A Fistful of Dollars Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Size Condition Price
A Fistful of Dollars 1964 Italian locandina - 13"X27" Fine £195
Notes: Rare country of origin first release from the first of Sergio Leone's trilogy, A Fistful of Dollars. The film was notable for several reasons. It was the first really successful Spaghetti western. It was a masterly retelling of Kurosawa's Yojimbo. And despite being directed by Sergio Leone, the credits identified a fictional Bob Robertson as director - the (misguided) studio wanted to give the impression that it was a proper American western not an Italian one. Folded as originally issued to cinemas. Excellent condition, pinholes in the corners.

A Night to Remember Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Size Condition Price
A Night to Remember 1958 UK DC - 20" x 30" Fine on linen £465
Notes: This is the film that real afficionados of the Titanic sinking respect. Roy Baker's 1958 film, starring Kenneth More, was far more historically accurate than Cameron's more recent blockbuster and was an appropriately British production as well. This is a super rare small format country of origin poster from the films first UK release. Prior to linen backing, this poster was rolled with no fold lines and no fading of the colours. It has now been linen backed by Dario Casadei in Vancouver and looks stunning with air brushing to the borders and white background only.

A Nous Deux (artwork rough) Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Size Condition Price
A Nous Deux (artwork rough) 1979 Original Artwork - 16" x 22" Fine £125
Notes: Unique original artwork by Michael Bennallack Hart, signed by the artist. This was an original rough drawn early in the creative design process for this 1979 french film by Claude Lelouch, starring Catherine Deneuve. Like most rough designs, it never made it into production but it remains a fascinating piece of pre-production cinema history. Of particular note is the fact that the all titles, including the small print, were in French suggesting that this was potentially intended for use in France.

Affairs of Susan Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Size Condition Price
Affairs of Susan 1945 French affiche - 24"x 32" Fair £45
Notes: Heavily cinema used but the Boris Grinsson artwork is still stunning. This poster shows it's age but the colours are still bright and the image is beautiful. The old fashioned stone litho print (often mistaken for screen printing) is far more vivid than modern offset litho printing and the overall effect is wonderful. This is one for lovers of patina and prefer a lived in look. The film was an oscar nominated romantic comedy starring Joan Fontaine as the multi-faceted Susan. This is from the 1947 first release in France of this 1945 film. Folded with wear from cinema use, repairs to rear and paper loss around the edges and folds.

All Quiet on the Western Front Original Vintage Movie Poster
Title Year Size Condition Price
All Quiet on the Western Front 1930 UK DC - 20" x 30" Very Good/Fine £995
Notes: British material on this tremendously important First World War film is notoriously difficult to find - this is the only example of a 1930 first release poster that I have ever heard of. Moreover, the text actually provides us with the provenance. It was used at the Empire Cinema in Faversham for a week from October 12th 1930. Quite possibly a unique opportunity. Folded with some overall wrinkling but no staining and no damage.
